Yeah I mean that’s basically where I see myself in 10 years helpsign

I’ve attached my batshit 90/22 which got me hooked on the idea, even better the thing shoots incredibly well due to the balance

I tweaked a similar chassis for a 10/22 and added a cam type adjustment to the trigger which enabled it to set quite nicely. The issue is/was the trigger needs to be released to allow it to reset so you can never set them as nicely as I would like.

An SA80 10/22 sounds intriguing and if you could get everything to line up with the faux barrel even better.

Get it done!

Thank you for the encouragement!

Exactly the issue I had with the 90/22 linkage, at the moment it’s got a silicone bushing on the trigger end as it was awful without it, but I really need to make up something more solid. But exactly as you say, you have to have ample room to allow it to reset which does leave you with a certain amount of “smoosh”
Apparently (and makes sense) it’s improved with a flat blade trigger but that seemed like unnecessary expense.

I’ve found that people moan about it, until they shoot it when you no longer notice it!

Hopefully I’ll be using the standard barrel from the 10/22, the FSB looks like it can be shimmed for a snug fit but I won’t be totally sure until I get the donor 10/22 as I’ll file the front sight block off it first.

I machined a piece of round bar to suit the hole and drilled an offset centre with locking grub screw so it could be rotated to adjust. Ever so simple, nigh on the sort of thing you can do at home and very efficient.

Inspired sir, I think even I may well be able to cobble together something like that at home

This is the article I wrote for the HTA cloaked 10/22 with a round bush, I cannot find the eccentric bush drawing or article so perhaps I never got around to writing about it. Shout if you need an off-cut of bar machined to a particular diameter when you get closer to the job.

Got a hankering for a .22lr semi-auto PKM or RPD now!

what is a unf thread micrometer? just a different tip to the anvil? or is there more to it than that?

also, I wonder if doing these sorts of conversions would be a justified reason for a RFD?

A UNF micrometer is a micrometer specifically designed to measure UNF threads and it seemed like a good idea at the time although I tend to just use a ring gauge these days. Selling airguns is good enough reason to be an RFD so such conversions would probably fly as well, however it is down to your local firearms team and how much they like your business plan.

I am aware of a couple of RFD applications being turned down quite recently however they usually get through, even for the part time RFDs. Just make sure there is a good enough reason.
