Not too paranoid to let our guys fight along side theirs in the desert !

There own people are free but they don't extend that curtesy to us !

Only scopes that are covered by Itar are "military" types, it's a vague description but usually covers those with some form of electronic image enhancement system. I've had no problem bringing back "normal" rifle scopes.

Unfortunately a lot of the US suppliers just put a blanket ban on everything to cover their backsides.

Well it was an AK scope, went for peanuts!
Damn you export restrictions!
I do have a bundle box, but can't risk them not sending it out to me.

I can't remember the exact details now perhaps someone will remind us but there are also restrictions on transporting scopes over 6x within Europe.
I didn't believe it at first when someone posted it on a website but apparently it's absolutely true. It's all for the same reasons, denying access to sniping scopes that can be used against NATO and EU forces.

I believe you're supposed to have a UK export license to send a scope with greater than 4x magnification out of the UK!

Again like the UK you need a US export licence from the US State Department to export ITAR stuff.
