#1 Post by Dave 101 »

I have been working on this stock today having stripped all the old finish off of it , I applied stippling around the grip area using a small burr in a dremmel tool .

I do like to see people doing things themselves, nice job Dave. Are you going to darken it up first before oiling it?

Wood - you know the stuff trees are made from. That one looks like Beech.

Hi

Yes I will darken the grip area before oiling , I was thinking of doing it in black and leaving the rest in a light finish .
This is the stock I wanted an ID on a few weeks ago the feeling was then it was walnut but I think its beech , someone did ID it but I cant remeber now what it was . I tried looking back at the post but cant get access to it , not in the time frame whatever that means .

Where we said we though it was not Beech? But now the little flecks are visible - there were not before.
