I can't claim to have put that many rounds through mine, but so far I've been very pleased with it, the short barrel seems very accurate and makes a very compact and lightweight gallery rifle. The only thing I plan to change is the buttstock so I can have a cheek rise of some sort. I've been using SK standard plus, but might try some CCIs, as long as my K22 is happy with them, don't really want 2 makes.

In what way?
Most noticable is the "boing" from the buffer tube spring has gone when cycling the next round. I doubt this is making groups better as the recoil seems more now.
The accuracy has got better but this could be coinciding with the change to CCI standards.
Finally when the bolt carrier group is removed the follower does not fall on the floor! :D

Best thing is to try it without and see what you think. :good:

I've had 2 CMMG rifles and I ditched the forward assist insert on both. It cycles much smoother without the insert IMO.

Why not read here and draw your own conclusions.
I already read all 18 pages after finding this thread in the search function. Thanks though.

Keen to understand people's response after their initial impressions/ ownership.

As an aside I found you can ditch the carrier return spring, that reduces twang!

At the risk of displaying risible ignorance, which spring is that, the one in the buffer tube, or the one in the stainless assembly that can be removed for cleaning?

The buffer tube spring and buffer can be removed from a .22

Thanks rarms. Knew it had a proper name. I’ve run without mine for over a year now. Took it out when I fitted an HK416c stock to it.
