Pah ! That's nothing. South Yorkshire Constabulary turned around a variation request for us in just under twenty minutes last Sunday. In the middle of a field too ! It would have been quicker if they hadn't insisted on us justifying our request and double checking our 'good reason' against the conditions in Home Office guidance.

Mines just come back from A&S took five weeks for a regular variation.

Hmmm, sound like they are quite slow anyway atm then. Maybe I should call them and add the other two guns I'm starting to want in the mean time

I never thought I’d say this about SY police but recently the firearms department have been excellent

Two variations recently last one took under two weeks and the previous was about 5 days. Not only that they were extremely helpful on the phone when I called.

If you can visit the offices Durham now aim to do variations while you wait. I had one a couple of weeks ago which took 25 minutes and the lady apologised for taking so long due to a computer problem.
