Two guys getting ready to insulate the roof of a new apartment building across from me. It's boxing day and -16C.

Wouldn't be allowed onto that roof in the UK, severe lack of safety barriers on hatch and round the roof.

Same here in NZ, they'd have to put scaffolding railings around the entire roof before being allowed to work up there.

When I worked as a scaffolder we erected a modular handrail system on two adjacent blocks of flats and we had to install a mobile anchor system with fall arrest blocks that were attached to our safety harnesses before we could begin erecting the handrail system near the edge.

Meanwhile over here that's very normal......well except for the fact that insulation and damp proofing is a concept they have yet to discover...
