Jutland is divided west to east by the Limfjord which has an island ion it called Mors, access to the island is by two ferries and two bridges. We used to live on the island a few kms up from this ferry. This morning at 07:55 the ramp at one end broke and dumped this diesel tanker in the drink. Luckily the driver escaped uninjured and the contents of the tanker are intact. (No doubt the driver and ferry master were a tad stressy at the time..) Downside is this is going to put a lot of time on the islanders commute until they drag it out of the fjord. Notice how the salt water has already started to freeze again.
EDIT - I just noticed the fjord is as low as I have ever seen it, that driver was very lucky.

Re: Mors Ferry
Glad to see that everything was "OK" in the end!
Without order and without a goal, six million people unarmed and unprovisioned, driving headlong. It was the beginning of the rout of civilisation, of the massacre of mankind.

Re: Mors Ferry
Well apparently the ferry will be out of action for the next week and it has been confirmed that the tanker integrity was maintained so everyone is happy. Well apart from the people who use the ferry, or are waiting for fuel oil, or the guy that tethers the ferry to the dock or the one that signs the lift system off.
The Limfjord is very famous for it's shell food and Floyd even wrote about it one of his books, the fjord is also a haven for migratory birds so on a serious note it could have had quite an impact locally. I still cannot get over how low the water was, apparently the tanker fell into 3m of water, normally it would have been closer to twice that. The water also freezes for a 100m+ from the shore at this time of year so it will have been bloody cold for the salvage divers who rigged the slings today.
