Covid volunteering

I've noticed on here there's been a few JFKesque points made about "ask not what your country can do for you..." in relation to the covid pandemic.

Here's what we did:

In April my wife volunteered to the local authority to be a covid volunteer. This involves taking food and medicine to vulnerable people. There was an option of taking crusty old people to hospital, but she has a desire not to catch covid if atall possible so did not sign up for that. All things being equal that is the job of the patient transport service, so if they want people picking up from hospital they should employ more staff.
All we needed to do was make sure the business cover we have as landowners on the motor insurance policy covers this.

Last week I signed up to be a tester for the upcoming covid vaccines, I would have liked to have done more on the volunteering side, but I'm a keyworker and have been putting in increased hours at work since this whole thing kicked off so simply don't have the free time.

Normally I would post up links but Adam would probably delete this post, so if you're thinking of volunteering try your luck on a search engine.

You really need to get over this, it is obviously chewing at you. So put your dummy back and move on for your own well being.

Links that have an explanation of what they are about do not get removed, as you have been told afore and is written on the forums.
