Australian International Arms
No4 Type
Model M10-A1

anyone experience with them some seem to say they are not that good ?

I think Alpha 1 has one. And if memory serves, he likes it. A guy in the club had one, and he didn't like his...

Wood fit and quality has varied wildly on the ones we have had in.

I would have one also if I could find one that shoots, accuracy fit and finish is all over the place with them. I must have had half a dozen examples through my hands over the years and none of them would group worth a damn.

There are some good shooters around as I have shot them but unfortunately for would be purchasers the owners tend to hold on to them.

I wouldn't buy one unless I was certain of its accuracy provenance, I would be at least expecting consistent 2" 100 yard benched groups with hand loaded/hand cast ammunition and bullets.

There was a guy a couple of firing points away from us at Bisley yesterday with one of them, when we were doing a 300yrd shoot.......so I guess he's either found out it's rubbish, or he's got a good 'un, and will not be letting go of it.

Mine is the short carbine version. A Lee Enfield No4 is a better buy than the Australian arms No4 type. As said the fit and Finnish can be a bit ropey and they are not an accurate rifle.
Mine is a good one but I had to spend some time on load development the round is 7.62x39 the bores are normally around the .310/.311 mark. I slugged my bore and took a chamber cast I then bought a NOE Loverin bullet mould based on those results for mine and that was the turning point. I only shoot cast bullets in it. I have a load I use indoors at 25yards and I shoot it at 100 yards outdoors.
It's a fun gun I have had it a long time and its a keeper.

Mine is the same model as the one in the article. I removed the flash hider from mine. My bore is .309/.310 the grooves are .313 the same as his. Mine feeds OK.
