Hi All

Anyone know if the freebore/throat of a rem 700 chambered in .300 RUM can be extended without effecting concentricity?

Love the calibre but would like to be able to the Sierra MKs seated a bit further out.

Thinking maybe a floating reamer?

Might be worth asking in the "Gunsmithing" section!

Yes, it can be done no issues although it would have been easier to do it at the same time as the rifle was chambered :)

Thanks. The rifle came chambered in .300 RUM, which is obvs primarily a hunting round. Might try and get the freebore reamed out 0.150 - .200" deeper.

To accomodate the Match kings and Hornady ELDMs. Not bothered about mag length etc as I single load.

Its a .308 bullet you can recut the depth using a piloted .308 throat reamer. Any competent gunsmith could do it for you providing he has the reamer of course. It should not be mega expensive as he does not have to cut the whole of the chamber.
