Perhaps if the government had thrown the same kind of money at cancer as they have with Covid we might actually have a cure by now.

They might have found a treatment for one of the many cancers, but I doubt it.
Covid viruses are a type of virus that much was already known about and a vaccine can be developed relatively easily for.

The HPV vaccine has massively reduced cervical cancer as it is a type of cancer that can be caused by a virus, most cancers don't have that type of obvious cause.
