yes, considerable experience with it. It's a great round in place of HMR, because it can also be used on rabbits without the ridiculous destruction of 223/22-250 et al.
Will kill a fox no problem to 225 yards, but best for 150 yard shots because of wind and drop further out
35gr v-max is my normal bullet, also 40gr Sierra SP works OK.
Limited powder use makes it cheap, no case lube is needed because the brass is so thin. You will need to reload to make it usable, most factory ammo is still deer loads (yes I know, but let's not go there!)
HTH!

I use a Hornet for fox and rabbits out to around 150 yards,it will stretch further, but, you have to be sure of your shot.
I'm using 12.5 gns Lil'Gun powder and a Sierra 40gn SP hornet bullet, which for me does the job fine.
The 'K' Hornet has the chamber reamed out to take a 'shouldered' case, and can hold a little more powder, gives about 200-300fps more velocity. I was thinking of having mine done, BUT, was quoted around £250 for the job !! ,If you are confident that you could do it,the reamer is around £50 or so.

superb on all quary to your comfort zone, will pancake foxes to 150yds, with ease. better imo than the 17hmr, it had the weight & trajectory factor in exellent balance.

Think that might want a new thread, but I am looking to change 22 hornet, 222 and 223 into a 17 fireball for rabbit and fox. Not going to go hundreds and hundreds o yards but for 200-250 I think it should be OK.

yeah i know how flat the trajectory is on the road so as long as your land has good back stops the .17 fireball is good to over 300 metres

Off subject again, why not consider the .204 Ruger instead of the .17Rem.?
But,for foxes up to a MAXIMUM of 200yards the humble hornet is a great calibre.
