Welcome to the forum, there is a wealth of knowledge to be had on this forum, don’t be scared to ask a question we were all new to shooting at some point in our career.
What may seem trivial to someone might seem extremely complex to another, better to ask and get the answer than blunder through it and loose your licence for a silly mistake.

Welcome to the forum Bob - I would guess that 90% of us cut out teeth on .22 rimfire.
