Due to the recent school shooting in Texas, Justin Trudeau is introducing a 'freeze' on handgun ownership! You won't be able to buy, sell or transfer any firearms, but you can still keep them and shoot them? Makes complete sense to me!

As you can imagine, every gun shop in Canada has sold out of pistols!

The five round limit for magazine capacity of rifles will mean that thousands of Lee Enfield rifles in Canada will have to have their magazines butchered. Why do Canadians vote for this idiot?

For some unknown reason there are still Canadians who worship this guy and would vote for him again. Stupidity knows no bounds.

When you think about it it's cheap way of removing hand guns from the public because there's no need to pay compensation. So in theory over the years legal hand guns will be removed from the community but like here in the UK there will still be shooting with illegal hand guns.

This is about what happened to the Brocock (Saxby & Palmer) air cartridge guns - You can keep them (on an FAC) but not sell or transfer them in any way.

Yup. In the UK we banned legal handgun ownership. We still have armed robberies and murders with hand guns. Sigh……

As bad as the handgun 'freeze' is imo the rest of it is arguably even worse. 5 rd mag limits will affect a lot of firearms (lever guns, tube fed Henrys especially, many shotguns, 6+ chamber revolvers etc), and then the ban on replica firearms which will outlaw just about every airsoft gun and many airguns - destroying a major means of entry to shooting as a sport for the young especially. And that's all without mentioning the aforementioned 2020 ban on many long guns (the 15/22 etc) purely based on aesthetics. Appalling. I don't doubt many in our government here are salivating with further likeminded restrictions in mind at some point...

10/22 - 25rnd and 50 rnd magazines are illegal
15-22 - illegal
CX455 - legal
PPQ - untransferable, plus all my magazines are illegal (10 round limit)
Typhoon F1 - illegal
686 OU - legal
Marlin 1894 - illegal, magazine tube is now too big
No4 Mk2 - illegal, magazine is now too big
Supernova - Not sure, Magazine tube is now too big?
