If you are making it or modifying it, repairing it or restoring it, it goes in here.

Engineering.(Bushings)

#1 Post by Alpha1 »

I have another Hobby actually I have several.
I am well known around the forums and other venues regarding this other hobby and it genearates income.
There is a lot of interest in brass cases in all sorts of calibers to convert into bullet pens. They sell like hot cakes.
I have recieved enquiries from the pen turning community as to wether I can turn cutom bushings in stainless to make hand turning these pens easier.
The answer is yes I can. Another little earner. I am at home in my little workshop love it.

The way shooting is going we will all need another hobby soon. Tell us more (with photos) about these pens.
Years ago I made hundreds of bullet keyrings and pendants for a local Cowboy/Western shop and fairly recently was asked for some ,22lr cases by the local art college.

They are old pictures all of the pens in the pictures have been sold.
I dont tend to do bullet pens now a days I am concentrating on custom made pens either in Stabilised Wood or Custom cast Acrylic pen blanks made by some of the best custom pen blank makers in the UK. The only bought in items are the Nibs and Nib sections and the pen clips. I use bock nibs normally either No5 or No6 I also have some left hand nibs they also do Caligraphy nibs not sure if that is the right spelling. I turn a Caligraphy pen set that comes with interchangeable nibs the nibs are manufactured in germany they are the Rolls Royce of pen nibs every thing else I do is made by hand.
I make fountain pens they are my favourets to make. Rollerballs all though I dont ever use them. Ball pens, Pencils, I also do simple click pens I sold three to day.

Anway I think we have the bushing thing sorted so I will be turning them the over the week end and posting them to Ireland on Monday.

Life experience tells me that any thing gun related is going to be a struggle. If you were to loose it you would be well placed to have at least one other interest to keep you ocupiod I have several. If they take my guns I will just retire to my sheds.

The bushings have created a lot and I mean a lot of interest. The first lot went to Northern Ireland.
No pictures I dont want any one copying them.
