Lee Enfield .22lr conversion?
I was asked by an old chap today if I knew anything about a Lee Enfield .303 to .22lr conversions. He has an old Enfield he rarely uses, but for one reason and another he want to hang on to, and was thinking that converting it to .22lr might be a way forward.
I'm aware Parker-Hale made conversion kits but seem to have been discontinued very many years ago.
Does anyone know if a system is available in the UK for this conversion?

They are called Aiming Tubes and I don't think any have been officially made for many years. I have one that will fit a CLLE and MLE (and I think a MLM) but that was a chance and much overlooked find in an auction.
It might be easier to find a No2, 7, 8 or N.9 but they aren't cheap.

Re: Lee Enfield .22lr conversion?
Loads of people in my club shoot .32 (ACP & SWL) using a home made chamber adaptor. Means you can use the 303 on an indoor range and get more use out of it. Apparently dead simple to knock up on a lathe...

Seems a lot of faff to go to when you can load the .303" safely to any desired velocity up to its maximum.
