Hi,
I was wondering if anyone had design plans for making a transit chest for a Lee Enfield No4T.

Thanks

Sam

Why not a copy of the original?

That is what I want to recreate if I can get plans of its construction

You have to scroll down to it.
Excellent - no excuse now. Need a photo diary of construction and the finished result.

Hi Sam
You looking to recreate the L42 transit case as above or the smaller No4T transit case, i know someone who has an original i could photograph and measure if thats what your looking for.
I know there's modern copies made to the correct spec out there but all a bit too expensive for me.

I personally will not be making a transit case, my friend has a No4T and the RFD he uses started as a cabinet maker before getting into shooting. Gav is thinking of getting the RFD to make a transit case hence why I was asking if anyone could help with plans.

The RFD (Tim) made the shoulder stock for the pistol on the web page, he also make a high quality box for the pistol and shoulder stock. Gav had saved some large branches from a Lime tree on his dads farm and wanted it to be made from that.

I will take some photos and measurements for you the next time i call round, i believe theres someone one ebay or the web who sells the furniture required for the transit cases.
I looked into doing this myself but the cost and lack of woodworking skills has ruled it out.

Ha, that sounds like a worthwhile project. I am tempted to make one for my P14 Sniper.
