The main consequence of this poorly written piece of useless cr@p is that unless you have Hand Loaded on your SCC from June 1st 2024 you will not be able/allowed to shoot hand loaded ammunition on MoD or Bisley ranges.

"SHOOTER CERTIFICATION CARDS (SCC) REQUIREMENTS 2024
ADDITION OF HAND LOADED AMMUNITION CERTIFICATION"

It states "The implementation date for Hand Loaded Ammunition Certification on both Bisley and MoD ranges is 1st June 2024"
HOME LOADED AMMUNITION SCCS - COMMUNICATION.pdf

I also suspect that at some point the NRA will once again attempt to get more money out of it's members/affiliate members by introducing a mandatory reloading course, please feel free to call me cynical :D

I read it as them asking for a commitment you'll follow sensible rules when handloading. As Dromia has always said use verified data for your loads.

I think the 'downloading' applies to rounds like .338 lapua which are prohibited from Bisley because of the max muzzle velocity and energy rules. Just as its always been, you can't download a .338 lapua below the limits and shoot it at Bisley.

Yes there's some a**e covering but, basically, if you're not already following the guidelines why not. I wouldn't want to be next to you on the range.

Unless of course you’re the Police or the Army in which case you can crack on re 338LM.

I have served with both and they are more than capable of dropping an elevation whoops (and do they have to undertake an HME zero)?

Can see the ability to add to your license not being as easy as this year’s has been…

You are a cynic. The manual is freely available online from the NRA website: https://nra.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/N ... nition.pdf

Not that download they have a reloading publication that goes into details of how to reload I have seen it at one of the gun clubs I go to. So I am cynical in that they will probably in the future make it a requirement to purchase their reloading manual. Otherwise why don’t they make it a free download.

I've been an NRA individual member, (and reloader), for years now, and I have never heard of, and can't find any reference to, a "reloading manual" on the NRA website, other than that linked above by IainWR....
