I don't know anyone who makes carbide dies for bottleneck cases.

I have a vague memory that Dillon might have done one at one point but it still needed lube if I am recalling correctly.

That is why we use case lube and steel dies.

Never heard of a carbide re loading die.

I own and use a set in .223 made by Dillon. They are very good, but as previously mentioned, I still lube my cases. Once this is done they require little effort to full length size and as such are very useful in a progressive press.

The Dillon carbide die were expensive I seem to recall and they only did the one in .223" and perhaps .308"?

Helped make them a tad slippier as has been told but were really no advance on the steel one as they didn't eliminate the need for lubing, I can see the benefit of the extra slippiness on a progressive.

Bear in mind that some Dillon dies & sets have been on *very* long lead times (approaching or over a year) for some time now. The website currently states 4-8 weeks, but I would do some research and check with Dillon before ordering. As others have mentioned, they are expensive ($195), but if you intend sizing half a million cases or more (no other reason to use carbide) then that is probably insignificant.

Perhaps the next best thing would be a TiN coated die; these used to be available from CH4D, not I'm sure if they still do them.

As others have mentioned, while carbide can negate the need to lube in some scenarios (limited situations with neck expanders, and some straight-walled cases) proper lubing is absolutely necessary for sizing bottleneck cases using carbide dies, so the only benefit is when dealing with volumes that even clubs are unlikely to see, never mind individuals.
