Fox and rabbit.

We had a little competition today at the range. A timed shoot on a fox and rabbit silhouette at 200 yards. The rabbit had a 2 inch scoring area in the head and a 3 inch scoring area on the body. The fox had a 3 inch scoring area on the head and a 4 inch scoring area on the body. Only hits in the white circles counted. Five points for hit on the small circle and three points for a hit in the larger circle. You could shoot at either circle depending on how accurate you thought you would be. The target was raised for a ten second exposure for one shot on the rabbit and one shot on the fox and away for fifteen seconds repeated five times. Only rifles with standard Harris type bipods or rested on a bag with no butt support allowed. It is supposed to replicate what you would have in the field if you were after a fox or rabbit. We shot it twice with the best score to count. I enjoyed it but we don't need to discuss my score.
The target used. The winning target, 45 ex 50. He put one just over the rabbit. It was a good day.
Regards
Peter.
