Marksman’s Calendar 2012

The Marksman’s Calendar is published on the NRA website in the Calendar sub-menu.

The outline Marksman’s Calendar 2012 is now being compiled. Please could club secretaries check the Calendar carefully. To have club fixtures, whether to be held at Bisley or elsewhere, included, please send details to karen@nra.org.uk. Please do not include minor events such as practice sessions. Details need to be with Karen by the middle of January. Once your fixtures are listed on the website, please recheck the details and confirm that the e-mail link is directed to the correct person.

Contact e-mail addresses are hidden on the website-based calendar (to prevent electronic harvesting of your address), but are visible on the downloadable printed version. Please provide such contact details as you are happy to have made public.

Training Course Dates for 2012

Provisional course dates for 2012 are now listed on the Marksman’s Calendar. To download a list of dates please visit the link below:

Mini Palma Match Saturday 28 April 2012

As you are probably putting together your shooting calendar for next year you might be interested in the following match.

A Mini Palma Match will be held on Saturday 28 April 2012 for teams of eight from any club, school or county affiliated to the NRA. The Purples Match will be held on the following day which will hopefully give many teams a great weekend's shooting.

If your club, school or county would be interested in competing in this match please contact Karen Robertson by e-mail to karen@nra.org.uk before 3 January so that any spare range capacity can be allocated to other range users. Teams will be accepted on a first-come first-served basis and we will require a deposit to confirm acceptance.

The course of fire will be as follows;

08:30 onwards Practice at 800 yards

10:00 - 12:00 2 & 15 at 800 yards

13:30 - 15:30 2 & 15 at 900 yards

15:30 - 17:30 2 & 15 at 1000 yards

Targets: Palma targets throughout.

Clubs may enter more than one team.

Conditions of match, match costs, ammunition, prizes etc will be notified once we have an idea of interest but the price will be the exact cost of targets, markers, ammunition and prizes. There will be prizes in different classes of team so you won't need a GB wind coach to win something!

And who knows how many of your club members might just end up on the next Palma squad?!

The National Clay Shooting Centre will be closed 24 to 27 December inclusive and will also be closed on New Years Day.
