Nice project, are you going to take pictures as you progress through the project? It would be a good tutorial :good:

For me the important part is marking the cut so that it is square to the vertical axis of the rifle or shotgun and it takes some time to get this right, once it is marked out the butt section then needs to be packed to make sure it is square to the cut and table and if possible build a temporary fence to act as a guide for the long cut.

Good advice ovenpaa...used a DIY jig when I did the Gracoil...link also details a simple but effective jig...order has gone off to Brownells...likely to be after Christmas when I get time to get to work on it...what with usual postal delays and HM Customs.

Measure with a micrometer.

Mark with chalk.

Cut with an axe.

Hammer into place.

Strangely enough, the same way I feel.....
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?
