JIC being 'Just in case'

Mossberg have released a few versions of this:

Image

They say
The heart of the JIC™ package is the venerable 12 gauge Mossberg® 500® Pump-Action. Fitted with a compact 18-1/2” barrel and rugged synthetic pistol grip and forearm, it’s offered in your choice of the blued Cruiser® model, the Mariner®, or the Sandstorm™ featuring our proprietary Marinecote™ finish for employment in or around harsh marine environments. Each is sealed in a re-sealable clear bag, and is packaged in a heavy-duty, waterproof synthetic carrying-tube complete with re-sealable top and nylon carrying strap. You’ll also find convenient accessories including the waterproof ‘Survival Kit-In-A-Can’ (Cruiser® model), or the durable multi-tool and serrated lock-back knife combo pack with cordura case (Mariner® model).
I say, pity we are restricted by length as this is a nice idea however I would prefer a folding stock to a pistol grip for a bit more control.

I've got one like this. Its a Winchester 1300 Pump with a 24.5" Cylinder bored barrel and fixed sights, you can get it on a Shotgun Cert. Came with a 28" barrel and chokes for clays.

Would be an ideal SHTF Gun :good:

That is a sweet little shotgun. Some pumps are so cheap that it is almost no brainer to buy one and chop the barrel. Great for Cowboy Action Shooting.
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!

A long time ago pre Hungerford I had a Mossberg 500 with the slugster 24" barrel with battle sights and a 5 round mag tube , had to get the mag tube crimped after Hungerford when I eventualy sold it the guy who bought it turned up at my house in a red Rolls Royce , I remeber him saying this will get some attention at the clay club , wish I still had that one .
