New rifle
Well, headed up to Sanselm's today to get the new .308. Snow everywhere but got there in the end. 30" Broughton barrel on Savage action in Bell and Carlson stock, and am very chuffed thus far. Of course, need the New Year I think now before I can actually fire it, but it's a good gun to look at
Many thanks to Stuart, excellent hospitality and fantastic rifle! Just need to get out and shoot it now!! Was very appreciative of the not-inconsiderable amount of time Stuart spent answering my probably-very-basic questions - gleaned a huge amount of knowledge and, despite the snowy long drive, very good day out!

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools!!

No pics, no gun.... So, as far as it stands, he doesn't have a new rifle!
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

What sort of a person starts a thread telling us all about one of Sanslems builds, forgets to take a picture and then buggers off? Sheesh I blame the forum Admin!
