Nothing wrong with CSR, this is a thread about the sad state of the NRA Journal. The front cover of the latest issue has a striking similarity to a couple of other publications that are aimed at an entirely different audience.

I don't think CSR is a discipline 'the NRA cannot make up it's mind about', although its only kept going because of some dedicated individuals and not because the NRA have helped or promoted it.

The guy on the front cover of the NRA Journal is not a 'Walt', he's more of a Gobby Butts Master.

It is after all a legitimate discipline and one that is growing in numbers.

I am not sure I would have it on the front page, I think the picture is a cracking picture however IMO it ought to be inside the Journal with the article.

IMO the frontpage of the Journal should depict something from Bisley, a seasonal thing, caravans with snow on, landscape, the summer edition have a picture from Imperial, yes I know it sounds boring, but it is the Journal we are talking about, JOURNAL, don't make it into a glossy shooting gungho mag.

Yes, someone at Blaze was obviously not following the news and I do think it is a tad unfortunate with that picture on the front.

The jury is very much out as far as I am concerned. The new format is more colourful but the content isn't as informative and the latest edition isn't what I would call balanced.

I am going to unsubscribe from this dross, hotel refurb ads and subscription offered for another magazine, ads for maritime security and worst of all GLOSSY pages everywhere, not what I want from The Journal.

Great place to recruit 'Walts' to shoot pirates, WTF I had not seen that.

Do the NRA have any editorial review of what is published in this rag?

Are they now in the buisness of recuiting mercenaries?

Not listed on the NRA website as Trade Members but listed in the Journal.

Do the NRA have a 'Black Ops' section the general membership is not aware of?

The same ads were also in there last issue but the magazine is so bad I doubt many people got that far.

Why would the NRA countenance such an association?

That is me unsubscribed. Yes, I do realise it is part of my membership fee however I really do not want it in through my door. The way I see it is "would I pay for it" and no I wouldn't.

A sad end for The Journal, it used to be an excellent record keeping magazine about everything shooting.

I have to disagree I'm afraid. It was excellent record keeping magazine for TR at Bisley; anything else was incidental.

Whats your view on the Mercenary Recruiting?

...as someone about to be made redundant I'm all for it!

I'm not saying its perfect but neither was the old version.
