I used to run CCI Mini mags in my old semi autos, many moons ago.

Got the spikes on order so cannot try them yet. A couple of videos on Youtube show a couple of issues running mini mags in a Spikes.

Most of the places round by me stock the hollow point stuff for hunting but don't seem to stock the target solid tip.

Presumably the hollow point stuff comes under the 'expanding ammunition' banner and as I have a target / range only ticket this might be an issue with supply.

+1 on the CCI Blazer, very reliable in semi auto's and at £41 per 1000 it's good value too.

Aye, Blazers were a bargain at the time.

We are running 1911's with .22 conversions on Stingers (I think)....

HI Mikeb,

Welcome to the ST-22 club :)

In both mine and my fathers ST-22's we have used the following

RWS Geko
Lapua Club 40gr (Std Velocity)
American Eagle 40gr (High Velocity)
Fedral Champion 40gr
Aguila 40gr Std Velocity
Aguila 40gr High Velocity

The ST-22 is accurate for 25yds with my Holographic sight and we are still to seriously shoot them at 100yds as we normally use our bolt actions for that.

Personally I prefer to run with Standard velocity so I can put a can on if I want too.

Hi again Mikeb,

be careful as there is a difference between High Velocity (HV) and Hyper Velocity. If you are looking at target ammo you are looking at standard velocity really

Hi Ginger thanks for the advice.

Have you got any tips for the Spikes? I am also after a good source for spare Mags. Presumably you are running the Black Dog mags in yours?

Looking online in the states I have seen them extremely cheap but over here they seem to be three times the price.
