Manual re-heading?

#1 Post by SevenSixTwo »

Is there a method of/tool for manually inserting a bullet head into a case i.e. without the aid of a press?

Arbor press, but you still need a die.

You could use a hammer, I suppose... (joke)

You could use a Wilson hand-die (seater) and a mallet (or a lump of wood or WHY). Sounds drastic but if you keep the neck-tension low, you won't damage the bullet.

The Classic Lee Loader is another option designed to allow you to reload without a press, all you need is a mallet.

Kenny, I must admit I find such a thing strangely appealing, shoot 5 and reload just off the firing point so you can shoot the same 5 cases again. Short Siberia would be a good place to test the accuracy of such reloads which I suspect at 100 will be fine plus is it going to be so much slower than a BP rifle once you have got into the swing of things.

That looks the bog's dollocks. Emminently transportable, too. How is he measuring the powder though?

2:10ish he is measuring powder with the yellow scoop that comes with the kit. he also reports 1.1cm groups which is keen shooting.
