Folding TRG stock for T3 and Rem700

Not strictly true but this company is making something which appears to me, without a side by side comparison, to be identical. They are advertising these at $880 US dollars which makes them considerably cheaper than a TRG folding stock.

I know the T3 is a very successful rifle and much liked by it's users, but is often let down by the stock that comes with it. Perhaps this will give a new lease of life to the T3.

Interesting that they sell a conversion kit to let the TRG use AICS magazines. I would be surprised if any TRG owner was prepared to mess with his chassis. When you see the cost is $220, you would have to be purchasing roughly 4 Sako mags to make it worth while.

I have used the TRG mags and they can take a bit of getting use to, but not sure I would pay out that kind of money to solve a minor problem.

I also liked their no machining tactical bolt handle for the Rem 700 - it appears to just clip over the standard handle, nice and simple,

Nice stock and other bits as well. I like the idea of the AICS mag conversion but it seems a rather drastic move to make. The T3 Tactical used to be a good GBP800 cheaper than the TRG22 is this still the case? The T3 is a very capable rifle but never seeming to gain the popularity it deserved.

At GBP450 with this stock you have the basis for a nice rifle. Aren’t Tikka and Sako built in virtually the same factory these days?

DM,

Where can you get TRG mags for $55, or am I misunderstanding?!! My RPA uses TRG mags and the cheapest I could find them was 140 quid each!!!

I could do with some spares.... ;)

There was no science to my guesstimate I was just having a, possibly poor, estimate.

Should you be able to get that kit to the UK, pay the postage and Tax, that would possibly come in just under £300? And that would only give you 1 magazine.

You have a more up to date and realistic idea of what Sako mags cost than I do, I have to confess that the last time I asked my make, was a few seasons back, and I seem to remember he said at that time that they were around the £110 mark.

So if I review my original post, I would still argue that you would need to be purchasing 3 Sako mags to make this worth while. Anything less and it is hardly worth doing.

Of course, not many people have a Sako without magazines, so the cost of what they have already spent out would have to be taken into account when deciding to change over to the AICS.
I would be surprised if someone buying a new TRG decided to go with this system from the word go, but clearly with the price of the magazines that may be the only way to make this system pay for you,

IMO

DM,

I wasn't questioning the validity of your post, far from it mate....... it's just I thought you had a handle on some bargain TRG mags!!!

One day I'll find some at a decent price. Nappies or mags, always a quandry.....
