Telescopic AR butt and pistol grip Mossberg 590
Just bought a FAC S1 Mossberg 590 Persuader. Whats the legalities of adding a different stock to S1 shotguns, was fancying a telescopic AR type Butt stock with adapter, hogue pistol grip and buffer tube affair. The barrel is 24 inches. Or would the butt have to b a solid one piece/pistol grip affair??

As long as it doesn't go below the legal minimum length with the stock in its shortest position I would think it would be OK.

As long as it means the 24" barrel, 40" overall length requirements (measured with the stock folded/collapsed) you're good to go

Measured with stock removed ( if it slides off without using a tool of any sort )Blackstuff wrote:As long as it means the 24" barrel, 40" overall length requirements (measured with the stock folded/collapsed) you're good to go

That's the way I've done always it to be on the safe side. However I've since found several instances of firearms that have easily removable (no/baisc tools required) butts/stocks and can still be fired yet are still considered S1, not necessarily AR types

Same rule applies as it would to a muzzle device on an otherwise too short barrel - it has to be fixed on ( requires tools to remove )
