Awaiting a reply to an e-mail. In any case we weren't discussing hypothetical load data - the load data is easy, just use data for 32 S&W Long!

I was wondering if trail boss was suitable as it's a relatively new powder (the pistol has a low S/N) and Sim was wondering what the recommended projectile was.

Got a reply,
I would suggest round ball and Herco in the Phoenix that uses shotgun primers for ignition.
Regards, Alan.

I have plenty of 36 cal (.350 dia) round ball (65 grains) - no Herco.

Max load with titegroup is 2.4 grains, which will give me something to work to.

Can I be a numpty and ask... how do you load it?

It's a "modern" ML, but I cannot even see a place for a percussion cap, or does it take centre fire primers or something? What projectile does it take.

That really is an interesting bit of kit

It's a single shot ML pistol. It would be best described as a modern 'in-line' design as as the primer, powder and projectile are all in a line as per a cartridge. It uses shotgun primers as the ignition source.

Does it use minié bullets? As I can imagine trying to tap-ram a tight-fitting bullet down the barrel would be hard going.

You may well be right, but I have plenty of round ball to use, so that'll be my first port of call.
