I went recently when my partners grandmothers ashes were interned, as my partner and her family are from Southend-on-Sea......

Dunno really. Met some cool folks, the innkeeper couldn't have been kinder, I drank some most excellent beer and even saw a cricket match at the local grounds (??) pitch (??) field (??). And the trains to and from London ran right on time. What's not to like???? :)

the cricket ground would have a cricket pitch, on the pitch would be a cricket square, and in that that is the crease... clear?? :)
