Has someone pinched some targets?

Erm.... anyone heard of some electronics being pinched from Bisley? Two seperate sources today of what I hope is an unfounded rumour.

I heard the rumour a week or so ago. Strangely, the previous excuse for them not being available was that they could not be installed in the frames due to health and safety concerns, and yet they were apparently stolen from the frames. The excuses I've been given for continuous unavailability since June have become more and more bizarre.

Not the whole targets - someone cut off and stole the electronic boxes that make them work! Nice people round here!

There have been H&S issues too as they were too heavy for the target frames and taking them in and out is a major problem.

The NRA electronic targets on Century are by Haring Gmbh (Note that the 300m electronic targets are different).

But you have to consider what was supplied by them as against which bits are customer (ie NRA/NSC) furnished equipment.

Also, manual handling is a non-issue on many small ranges which have gone all-electronic, but at Bisley, there is a need to change between various target types for different users. And we are not going all-electronic at Bisley anytime soon (read "ever" if you ask Karen!).

Welcome to our forum Iain.

And what is your take on why the NRA did not support the legal shooter following Dunblane and Hungerford?

That's a "have you stopped beating your wife?" question.

Park your preconceptions and we can discuss it, though over a pint would probably be a better approach.

Robin,

Don't let him get on the whisky or he'll talk all night!

Gun rhymes with fun.

We are constrained only by the rules of safety and our own imagination.

The time for wee chats around the fire are long gone.

We are looking for answers and moreover, change for the better.
