Evening all,
Currently got paperwork in for application to grove small arms club.
Interested in circa WW2 service rifles. List of things I want to buy is growing by the day.
Likely get a Mosin or an M48 for first service rifle and a SW MP15-22 so I can shoot without bankrupting myself haha
Any good dealers of the classic service rifles people recommend?

RJ156, welcome
Grove is one of the better clubs around. Quite a big membership.
Shoots long distance at Barton Road.

Welcome.
There are the usual suspects for classic rifles and all of them will be incredibly keen to separate you from your hard earned cash. Now this is fine if you are looking for the easy option however if you are prepared to hunt around there are still extremely accurate (Relatively!) bargains to be had. Forum members are a good source and I have picked up a couple of pre 1945 long rifles from the forum this year alone. Also, it is worth looking at the larger far flung shops as they often have racks of rifles that are no longer in favour. I have a favourite place in Scotland for pre 1912 Sporting rifles at sensible prices.
Just look around and ask people and things will start to appear :)

Yeah the distance and the local ish ranges that shoot out to decent range is a big plus.
Was really struggling to find a club to start with, most ranges were either Rimfire only or the few centre fire ranges there were are only 100yards. Pretty pointless unless zeroing
K31 is the dream to be honest but they seem to have vanished off the face of the earth in the UK at the moment

That is a good point. Just because they aren’t “in fashion” doesn’t mean it’s not a good rifle in it own right I suppose.Ovenpaa wrote:Welcome.

I was hoping forums would be a good place for the private sales. Not been on forums for years! Great source of info and discussion. Damn Facebook for ruining most of them.

Hi and welcome.
Forums are a great source of both info and potential secondhand guns. Facebook is doing it's best to not have any gun related content on it which helps the forums remain the best option.
There are some dedicated sales sites as well such as.
https://www.gunstar.co.uk/schmidt-rubin ... les/825191
I have no connection to the company or rifle btw.
