Kammerlader Actions

#1 Post by Ovenpaa »

Has anyone come across a Kammerlader action pistol or rifle here in the UK or ever seen one for sale? Either in Norwegian or Danish form.

Yes. I've had my hands on a few of the rifles. Chap in our club owns them.

Are they fairly common over here in the UK and do they ever come up for sale?

I wouldn't say common, but there are a *few* around the place.

I don't see them often but I'm not surprised when I do either.

As I watched this I was cringing at the seemingly unsafe way of preparing this pistol and had to laugh when the bloke said "it is not as dangerous as it looks" or words to that effect.

I've never seen one before......... THAT IS JUST TOO COOL!!!

I hate the FAC process. I would buy one of them right now, but by the time the variation process goes through and you find one, the novelty value would have worn off. Yep, I'm impulsive when it comes to "gun buys"!
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

This is indeed the problem SimG, even if you find one you know it is going to take a while to get a variation in place. I think Christel has just passed three weeks waiting for her 1:1 to come back and when she spoke with them yesterday it had been sent from Hertford to Bedford for approval, then back to Hertford for issue... Sheesh....

Anyway, I would give a Kammerlader Action pistol space in the cabinet and if I cannot find one I will have to build one.
